RTX Wheels
Full Shopify Build + ERP Integration
The challenge
RTX Wheels operates at a scale that most Shopify stores aren't designed for: thousands of SKUs, a national dealer network, and an ERP system that needed to stay as the source of truth for inventory and orders. Their previous website couldn't handle the catalog complexity and had zero integration with their backend.
The build needed to do two things simultaneously: present a premium consumer-facing storefront for DTC sales, and integrate deeply with their ERP so that dealer orders, inventory levels, and pricing all synced automatically — without manual data entry.

How we did it
We mapped every data flow between RTX's ERP system and the new Shopify store before writing a line of code. SKU taxonomy, pricing tiers (dealer vs. consumer), inventory sync frequency, and order routing all defined in a technical spec that the ERP team signed off on.
Custom Shopify theme built from scratch — optimized for large catalog browsing: vehicle fitment filters, multi-image product galleries, spec comparison tables. Mobile-first, designed for the automotive buyer who researches on phone and converts on desktop.
Custom middleware layer connecting RTX's ERP to Shopify via webhooks and scheduled sync jobs. Inventory updates pushed every 15 minutes. Order fulfillment data pulled back for customer notifications. Dealer pricing tier maintained separately from consumer pricing — both managed in ERP, not Shopify.
Full catalog migration of 8,000+ SKUs with fitment data validation. Three-week QA period with both the dealer network and consumer test users. Zero data loss during migration. Go-live with same-day cutover and ERP team on standby.
